The platform has been in development since 2022, was built with lawyers and is used by law firms in Spain. The UK is part of its international expansion. 01 ## Why we built it Lawyers spend too much time on work that does not need their judgement: reading and summarising documents, building chronologies, writing the same email for the tenth time or looking for where an enquiry ended up. Amara exists so that AI does that work inside the matter and lawyers spend their time on what only they can do: decide, advise and represent. 02 ## Our principles - **The lawyer decides.** Amara prepares and proposes; review, strategy and signature belong to the professional. - **Verifiable sources.** A reference that cannot be checked is not presented as certain. - **Data in Europe, never used for training.** - **No overclaiming.** We date our figures and say what is still in preparation. 03 ## Amara in figures (October 2026) - **133 features** on one platform. - **99 out of 100** correct answers in Spain’s entrance exam for the judiciary and public prosecution service (CGPJ, 2025 call). - **Almost 3 million** legal units in the Spanish corpus, updated daily. 04 ## Amara in other countries After Spain, we are preparing Amara for Portugal, Morocco, the UK, the United States, Brazil, France, Italy and Germany, each with its own legal corpus. Neurogestión SL has been developing Amara since 2022, so the platform has more than four years of development behind it. It was built with lawyers and is used by law firms in Spain, where it works with a Spanish corpus of almost 3 million legal units. The UK version builds on that work. Amara is led by its founder and managing director, Miguel Torres. The product is shaped with the lawyers who use it: in every country, founding firms tell us what is missing for local practice before we present anything as available. 06 ## Why the United Kingdom? The legal profession in England and Wales is large and organised: 181,481 practising solicitors and 8,899 SRA-regulated firms, according to the [Solicitors Regulation Authority](https://www.sra.org.uk) (September 2026). Amara is designed for firms of every size, from the sole practitioner to the firm with several offices and networks of firms, so it can follow that variety of practice. UK law is also published in official sources that a legal AI can cite precisely: [legislation.gov.uk](https://www.legislation.gov.uk), with revised and point-in-time versions, and Find Case Law, both from The National Archives. That makes it possible to build a corpus where every reference can be opened and checked. 07 ## What works in the UK today and what is coming soon? Today, UK firms can use the legal copilot, document review, drafting in English, matter management, the CRM, Amara Work, and teams and permissions. Coming soon: the UK legal corpus, starting with England and Wales, Amara’s result on UK professional exam questions with the full methodology, and LexMarket in the UK. The UK corpus is built in three layers (legislation, case law and assimilated law) and keeps England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as separate jurisdictions. [Founding firms](https://amaralegal.ai/en/founding-firms/). 2. **Corpus from official sources.** Legislation, case law and assimilated law, with the version in force on the date of the facts. 3. **Dated figures.** We publish numbers only once they have been checked, with their date and source. 4. **Universities.** Law schools can join a programme with their own portal and simulated cases, free of charge in the 2026-2027 academic year.
